City Hall is currently open Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, patrons may use the lobby. We encourage residents to utilize the drive-up/walk-up dropbox located on Greenwood Street, or the walk-up service window located just outside the entrance to City Hall. Per MDHHS Oct. 9, 2020 - Executive Order, face coverings are required in City Hall, and please remain at least six feet from any patron who does not reside in your home. The City of Grand Ledge is taking a number of precautionary mitigation strategy measures to deter the spread of COVID-19. Please be advised of the following temporary measures:

  • City Hall is currently open Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, patrons may use the lobby. We encourage residents and businesses to utilize mail, drive-up drop-box, and NEW walk-up window at City Hall for payments, permits, applications, and any other correspondence. Per MDHHS Oct. 9, 2020 - Executive Order, face coverings are required in City Hall, and please remain at least six feet from any patron who does not reside in your home.  Residents and businesses are encouraged to utilize online options through www.CityofGrandLedge.com.
  • Alterations at City Hall
    • Rental of City Hall facilities are postponed until further notice (including the Senior Meal Room).
  • Building Department​​​ Updates
    • Permits may be applied for by using the dropbox, walk-up service window, or lobby at City Hall. Permits are also accepted via mail or by emailing permits to to building@cityofgrandledge.com (please note your permit will not be issued until payment is received).
    • Please continue to use our designated inspection line: 517-277-0700.
    • Social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment remain imperative on the job site and during any inspections for the protection of residents, contractors, and our inspectors.

  • Parks and Amenities
    • Per CDC recommendations, please maintain 6-foot social distancing measures when utilizing parks, trails, and sidewalks.
      • Walk-this-Way: Next time you see this message in your neighborhood or on the bridge downtown, we encourage you to walk on the sidewalk with the flow of traffic. Many residential sidewalks do not allow for a safe 6 ft. distance (or more) between you and those not in your household. If we all follow the same pattern of travel, we significantly limit the risk of exposure when passing other walkers!
    • The Splashpad at Jaycee Park is closed until further notice. Please note, the splashpad is seasonally closed by Labor Day regardless.
    • Rental of City Parks/Amenities is permitted. To access the Standard Rental Application for Parks Facilities and check availability, please click here.
    • Playgrounds and recreation structures at parks remain unsanitized, please use at your own risk (sound garden, railings, benches, picnic tables, grills, dock, steps, etc).
    • Social distancing is highly encouraged when using any baseball field, basketball court, or tennis court within the City.
    • Compost & Recycling Center is open with normal summer hours: Wednesdays, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, and Saturdays, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. For information on how to purchase the required annual vehicle pass to enter the Compost Center, please visit www.cityofgrandledge.com/compost.
      • Granger Recycling service is accepting self-haul recycling and yard waste at the Wood Road facility. Self-haul yard waste disposal is a paid service with only credit cards accepted.   • Police Department
    • The Police Department will continue with normal open lobby hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and may be reached by phone for non-emergency police assistance at (517) 627-2115. For emergencies, please call 9-1-1.
    • The Police Department will continue to provide police service to the businesses and citizens of Grand Ledge, however, we will be limiting our in-person response to high-priority calls.     • Prescription drug drop-off and PBT administering are currently suspended.
    • Parking tickets, parking passes, and other Police Department payments can be made via mail and dropbox.
    • On-street, overnight parking is permitted until further notice.
    • Curfew Reminder: Minors under the age of 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult over 21 years between the hours of 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM.
  • Fire Department
    • As of, April 8, 2020, residents of the City of Grand Ledge and Oneida Charter Township are allowed to have recreational fires on their property under the following conditions:
      • Residents must have a valid permit prior to any burning. Permits must be obtained by calling 517-627-1157. Permits may be denied based on weather conditions or other variables.
      • Only seasoned firewood can be burned in a designated campfire area or fire pit. Fire areas must be self-contained with water hose accessible at all times. No yard waste, brush, or agricultural burning is allowed.
      • All fires must be fully extinguished with no visible embers prior to leaving the area.
      • Executive Order 2020-77 must be followed. Permits will only be issued for single household use. Any people gathering other than those of the single household is strongly discouraged. Those found in violation of this order may be subject to a penalty of up to $1,000 for each violation.
      • Violations of any of these guidelines will compromise future permit issuance.
